Candidates Endorsement Night

Three endorsed for Marin Healthcare Board

The Marin Women’s Political Action Committee held its Endorsement Night Sept. 22 and members voted to endorse Evelyn Foster, Jennifer Hershon and Jennifer Rienks for the Marin Healthcare District board of directors. The group also voted to recommend Jonathan Leone for Sausalito City Council.

MWPAC members can recommend male candidates who support our issues if they are not directly running against a qualified woman, and receive 51 per cent of the votes. In the case of Sausalito, there were two seats open and only one woman running. In the case of the Marin Municipal Water District Board, Division 3, Candidate Larry Bragman received enough votes to block Incumbent Liza Crosse’s endorsement. Bragman was critical of the Board’s handling of several issues.

Marin Women’s Political Action Committee, The Elected Women’s Luncheon with Keynote Speaker
Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey

  Friday, March 25, 2011

A sold-out luncheon honoring Women’s History Month, elected women officials in Marin,
and female student leaders provided the opportunity to hear Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey
give an moving speech about women reaching their full potential (see video on our home page).

County Superintendent of Schools Mary Jane Burke was another inspirational guest speaker.
Those who attended had the opportunity to meet up with friends and acquaintances and catch
up on personal and political happenings. It appeared that everyone had a lot to say and in
no hurry to depart for homes and offices.
