Vote Women in Rally

MWPAC co-sponsored the “Vote Women In” rally October 8th at Gerstle  Park, San Rafael. “There was a wonderful turn out by our State Legislators,” says Cathryn Hilliard, MWPAC president. Those present included Cristina Garcia (Bell Gardens) chair of CA Legislature’s women’s caucus, Senator Nancy Skinner (Berkeley), Assembly members Rebecca Bauer Kahan (San Ramon)and Buffy Wicks (Oakland)..  Marin elected women included Supervisors Stephanie Moulton Peters and Katie Rice, Mayor Stephanie Hellman(Fairfax), Carolina Martin (San Rafael School Board ) to name a few. “Candidate Sara Aminzadeh for Assembly and her supporters reminded us how few women serve in the Assembly and Senate.  Together we can make a difference.  Please vote and ask your friends to vote,” says Hilliard.

Openings on County Boards and Commissions

Do you want to participate in your community and make a difference?
Do you think you might someday want to run for elected office someday,
but need a place to start? What can you do?

Check out the Openings on Marin County Boards and Commissions.

The Marin County Board of Supervisors (BOS) has established advisory boards,
committees and commissions to which it appoints Marin residents to serve,
mostly on a volunteer basis. The BOS needs innovative and enthusiastic volunteers
who support and serve the constituents of Marin.

To participate, please take a look at the Current Openings page and consider volunteering for one of the open positions.

From time to time MWPAC will offer the opportunity to support organizations that benefit women.  BLOOM provides clothing for women who are joining the workforce and/or interviewing for jobs, but don’t have the appropriate wardrobe to make a good first impression, and to feel confident in their new role.  Please help by making a contribution here.  Thank you.
